Sawyer’s car battery is dead, and he needs to jump start it. The instructions with the jumper cables read: 1.Connect one red clamp to the positive battery post of the bad battery. 2.Connect the other red clamp to the positive post of the good battery. 3.Connect the black clamp to the negative post of the good battery. 4.Connect the other black clamp to the frame of the vehicle with the bad battery to ground it. 5.Try to start the vehicle with the bad battery first to avoid rapidly draining the good battery. If the vehicle does not start, then start the vehicle with the good battery. When attempting to recharge a car battery, which might cause the destruction of the good battery? A) connecting a black cable to a positive post B) connecting a red cable to a positive post C) disconnecting the cables before the vehicle starts D) starting the vehicle with the good battery first
ok what's the question
here you go On the dead battery, attach the positive (red) cable to the battery, but attach the negative (black) cable to a section of bare metal in the engine compartment. Even a nut or bolt end will do. photo by Matt Wright, 2010 Don't be nervous about your battery connections, but also know that it's very important that you do not mix up the cables or you can do serious damage! With both cars parked next to each other, turn both keys to the OFF position. Not only will this protect your car's electrical system from any surges, it's always safer under the hood with the engine off.
It's A, since the black cable is supposed to be with the negative post.
ohhhh ok thanks!!!
what about this question? Trying to start the car with the bad battery before starting the car with the good battery can help avoid which problem? A) destroying the good battery B) draining the good battery C) grounding the cables D) the car not starting
@ManImStumped
B or A
5.Try to start the vehicle with the bad battery first to avoid rapidly draining the good battery. your answer is in it starting it with the good battery can ruin the good one because if it runs all ready and you crank it with 2 good batteries its to much energy and one will spark out I took auto for 4 years and my grandfather is a mechanic
my uncle is one too
It's B, since, if the old battery still has energy, there's no reason to drain the energy of the good battery.
alright thnak you soo much!! @ManImStumped @micahm @alisonrae20298
yelp
