Are the two triangles below similar?

OpenStudy (awesome781):

where?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, because there are two pairs of congruent corresponding angles. No, because there are not two pairs of congruent corresponding angles. Yes, because the corresponding sides are proportional. No, because the corresponding sides are not proportional.

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You ! :) Same exact one I was actually thinking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually, that's incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can't prove two triangles similar solely by the proportionality of their sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a way you can prove two triangles similar is by AA (angle angle). if a triangle has two congruent angles, then they are similar triangles. do the two triangles have two congruent angles at least?

OpenStudy (chris911):

I knew it so its A cause of angle 30

OpenStudy (chris911):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is correct. the answer is A

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

The shapes are definitely not the same shape nor the same size. Similar means same size same shape...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@YanaSidlinskiy, no. that's congruence. and you can't assume based on the drawings. the facts state that they are the same shape but not the same size, which makes them similar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is A ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (chris911):

saved the day Thanks bro

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You Both :D
