will give a medal please help Henry grabs one shoe at a time at random without replacement from a box of ten shoes in his closet. The box contains 4 brown shoes, 2 black shoes, and 4 sneakers. What is the probability that the first two shoes he chooses will be brown? Round to the nearest percent if necessary.

Choose the shoes one-at-a-time...probability is number of successful choices ------------------------ total number of choices So in your case, on the first draw, you have 4 brown shoes out of 10 shoes. On the second draw, assume you *did* pull a brown shoe the first time. So you have 3 brown shoes out of 9 total shoes. Take these two fractions and multiply them together to get the answer.
