Can you figure out the area of the rectangle, including the triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do that, then try to find the dimensions of the triangle (should be fairly easy, but if you have questions just ask). Then find its area, then subtract it from the total area you found in the first step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok... so the area of the triangle is 9*7 = 63. From the diagram you know that the sides of triangle is 9-6 = 3 and 7 - 4 = 3. area for that is 1/2*3*3 = 4.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

63 - 4.5 = 58.5

Thankyou so much! Can you help me with 3 more?

same deal with the last one. Only this time it's easier. Find the total area (you should know how to do this). Then subtract it with the area of the triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so... total area is 5*6 = 30. What's the area of the triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be 12
