OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Agreement has to do with plurality. Here are some examples with pronouns: http://www.chompchomp.com/terms/pronounagreement.htm So, in your lines, what words have what plurality, singular or plural, and do they agree? For example, if I say "One horse were sick." Horse is singular. Were is plural. That does not agree.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's A, since both words have 'the' before them, indicating a singular object to choose from.
