You'll get quicker help if you post this in the History section, where it won't be considered spam. (: I send my best wishes & luck to you for this question. o^.^o
this is an english assignment @.TH3_M0NST3R.
Yes, but the topic is stuff that deals with History, so there will be more people who know about that topic in the History section rather than in the English section. (:
Okay! What is the landmark case about and how was this amendment upheld? Respond in three to four complete sentences. List two current court cases relating to this amendment. Case: Town of Greece v. Galloway This case is about the town board meetings of Greece, New York. Starting in 1999 the Town Board meetings began with a prayer. Susan Galloway and Linda Stephens complain in 2008 that these prayers favored Christian prayers. The Town won. The First Amendment was upheld by the fact that, the prayers were a freedom that the Town had. The prayers were usually Christain prayers because Christianity was widely practiced. The prayers were a simple tradition that recognized beliefs that many in this country accept. Sources: http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/cert/12-696 http://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/12-696 Case: Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization v. Winn This case is about taxpayers and reductions. An Arizona tax policy reduces citizens' tax liabilities if they donate to school tuition organizations. These organizations may give scholarships to students to participate in private and usually religious schools. One reason taxpayers say the have the right to sue is because this policy promotes religion. This cases has not been closed yet, but one reason it could uphold the First Amendment is because the individual taxpayers choose where to donate their money. Not the government. Sorry I couldn't find many cases. You may want to pick another second case. And I'm super sorry but I really have to go. The rest is on you.
thankyou! @LeilaniLane
it was wrong.. For your landmark supreme case, you will need to identify an early case that was decided based on the first amendment and after which future cases were modeled. Your two recent cases should be cases relating to the first amendment. @LeilaniLane
