Let f(x) = 3x + 2 and g(x) =7x + 6. Find f ·g and its domain. A. 21x2 +32x + 12; all real numbers except x = -6/7 B. 21x2 + 32x + 12; all real numbers C. 6x2 + 4x + 42; all real numbers D. 6x2 + 4x + 42; all real numbers except x = -2/3

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

f · g means (3x + 2 ) · (7x + 6)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So, f(g(x)) or in other words (fog) equals ?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Also you can eliminate some of the choices already because there is no denominator or square (or any other even) root in which you say for example √2-x you know what I mean right ? There is no reason for domain restrictions.

thanks

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Ok, can you tell me what you got, to make sure you are correct ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B :s

@SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh haha its ok thank you! :)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Congrats with new color :) And You welcome!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe ty :) can you check this one for me. I got A Let f(x) = 3x + 2 and g(x) =x - 3. Find f(x) - g(x). A. 2x - 1 B. 2x - 5 C. 2x + 5 D. 4x - 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Correct , it is A!

OpenStudy (anonymous):
