fission and fusion help?

so this is a fission process. In fission, the neutron is shot at a nucleus, causing that nucleus to become unstable and break apart. The products will be smaller particles with 3 extra neutrons, which is shot at other nuclei, and begin the cycle again. So... If you absorb neutrons, and in effect, reduce the available number of neutrons shooting around, what happen? Think about it, does it increase the speed of rxn or decrease it? I'll tell you that the last two choices are wrong, but I'll leave it to you to think why. How on earth does it recycle the fuel? And does it have anything to do with heat absorption?
