A. Number line with a closed circle on 3 and shading to the right B. A number lines I a closed circle on 3 and shading to the left C. 3 greater than or equal fox. D. X less than or greater to 3

is it b??

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well start by solving the inequality so the 1st step should be distributing and collecting like terms \[5x + 10 \ge 9x - 2\] subtract 9x from both sides and subtract 10 from both sides \[-4x \ge -12\] the last step... divide both sides by -4 but you need to think about what happens to the inequality when you divide by a negative... hope it helps..

so is it b?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

nope... when you divide by a negative the inequality is reversed... so its a closed circle... and the shading goes in the direction of the inequality which means the shading goes left. but for some reason the choices don't make a lot of sense... be me...A is the wrong solution...
