Problem set 1, exercise 3: did anyone else find this to be extremely challenging?
YES! I am all for learning things on my own, hence doing this course, but the lectures did not explain bisection very well IMHO.... I have been looking for clarification as well: http://openstudy.com/updates/5376b19ce4b058cfb0dafd60
Very much so. It's taken me most of the day to complete.
Can anyone tell me where to find this? Have completed problem set 1 a and b (problem 1 and 2), but have no idea where to find 1 c. Does not look like there are any more problems left? :)
@Conomeer94, it is in the same PDF where 1a and 1b are found... http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00sc-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-spring-2011/unit-1/lecture-4-machine-interpretation-of-a-program/MIT6_00SCS11_ps1.pdf
@FranklenS, Would you mind sharing your code? I am curious on solutions other than the one provided in the solution set.
Not the most elegant of solutions but it seems to work. Overall balance seems to be out by a few pence and after looking at solution this is down to a rounding issue. https://gist.github.com/farrellspt/a74bba085c40beb6ccb4
Thanks. I guess I have been on the right track with this one. oh and # Over payment - I need that cash for beer! HAHAHAHAHA! Great comment!
@jrgeek Thanks, found out that I was looking at the version from fall 2008 instead of spring 2011. Not the same assignments :)
