How does a scientific theory differ from a scientific law? a law is true but a theory is not a theory might change but a law will not a law is a fact but a theory is just a guess theories are invented but laws are discovered

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Laws are usually commonly found within classical mechanics. A law is something KNOWN, such as gravitational interactions (Newton's laws). A theory however, is based on purely theoretical knowledge (mathematical models and estimates generally) . Modern theory's (pertaining to the physics world) are most commonly found in QM.
