Can I get some help ; w ;? Pleaseee Choose the slope-intercept equation of the line that passes through the point shown and is perpendicular to the line shown. (Graph will be posted)

OpenStudy (breathlessreaper):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=5x+2\]

OpenStudy (breathlessreaper):

A. y = 2/5sx + 1 B. y = -5/2x - 27/2 C. y = -2/5x - 3 D. y = 5/2x + 23/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

remember rise over run for the slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait hang on

OpenStudy (breathlessreaper):

D doesn't quite seem right to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b Y - variable m - slope (value next to x) b = y - intercept (intersection with the y - axis) Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its C. im sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope = rise/ run so for the first solution you have, you would say 2/5, it goes 2 up (rises up 2 spaces), and 5 to the right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b = 1 for the first example meaning x = 0 y = 1.

OpenStudy (breathlessreaper):

Sooo, It should be A? @iambatman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your not getting the point, I was using A as an example showing you what everything means, which will help you graph it.

OpenStudy (breathlessreaper):

Oh, oops sorry o.o I get what your saying now xD
