OpenStudy (deepika.comet):

Like gases, liquids and solids there is another state identified - which is considered as the fourth state. Can anyone name and explain its properties?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

There are two more states of matter namely, Plasma Bose–Einstein condensate

Dear @deepika.comet, In classical Physics there are only four states of matter called as fundamental states of matter namely Solid, liquid, Gas & Plasma. Now if you move on to other non classical states of matter there are plenty of them like Glass!, Liquid crystal state, copolymers, Quantum spin liquid. Similarly if u move on to Low temperature states then u will find out Bose-Einstein condensate, Fermionic condensate, Photonic matter, Quark matter and many hell more. But the point is that, most of them are either theoretical or extremely hard to obtain. The link u sent me is about Quantum spin liquid a kind of non classical state of matter we consider in condensed matter physics where we apply rules like laws of quantum mechanics, electromagnetism and statistical mechanics. Its existence was first theorized in1987 and recent advances has shown its about confirmation. In this state, the material is a solid crystal — but the internal magnetic state is constantly in flux. You can consult the below website for more detailed information aboul QSL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_spin_liquid
