shifting functions vertically

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

f(x)=x to shift it up V units, f(x)=x+V to shift it down V units, f(x)=x-V

OpenStudy (dannyrod2000):

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

G(x) is 3 units above F(x) So if f(x)= g(x) +3 for whatever g(x) is. Does this make sense?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I mean that f(x)=g(x)+3 . Not g(x)=f(x)+3 SORRY.

OpenStudy (dannyrod2000):

would it be -x^4+6?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Yes !

OpenStudy (dannyrod2000):

really?

OpenStudy (dannyrod2000):

cool i got it right

OpenStudy (dannyrod2000):
