OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am assuming that is a function table not entirely sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here i can post a pic of what it locks like on my practice test @Johnbc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup then it is exactly what i did up there where X is the number you put into your function and Y is equal to the outcome of putting the X into the function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how does it all work like could you explaiun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will give you an example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1400476624073:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when x is equal to a number the whole function ends up being that number x times 2 which equals y in this case only but if you had any other function then just plugging in X and finding Y you can make a table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WAIT, so should i add X+Y then (X) it by two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No the table only shows us what happens when we plug in a number for x and what the answer comes out to be in the Y section of the table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok , but how did you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if you have any equation or function and you plug in a number for X you will solve and find a number which will be your Y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I made the equation up so I could show you an example they will usually give you and equation and ask you to make a table from there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok im gonna post the questions, choices and pic of this help me okay hold on :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I also chose any number i wanted for x and solved for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Which set of output values correctly completes the function table? (1 point) –14, –7, 0 14, 7, 0 14, 7, 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Johnbc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to examine the function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Shown in the top of the table for problem 1 we see that it is y = -7x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and they have values for x so all you have to do is plug them in and solve for Y
