ab is any side of the nonagon, find the area of the right triangle above. Multiply it by 2 to get the area of the triangle oab. Now you have 1/9 th of the total area.
OpenStudy (nipunmalhotra93):
I'm sorry make that 4.5 instead of 3.

what do you think is the ratio of the area of the right triangle above to the area of the nonagon?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
not sure
OpenStudy (nipunmalhotra93):
wait a min... the question seems wrong
OpenStudy (nipunmalhotra93):
the length of the apothem doesn't agree with the side.. for a regular n-gon, there is a direct relation between the length of a side and the length of the apothem. They aren't independent. This won't form a regular nonagon.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
would this be 649

^what's this?

one of the answrefrs
OpenStudy (nipunmalhotra93):
No like I said, the question doesn't make sense. There exists no regular nonagon with side 9 and apothem 16.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so what do i do i need to answer this :/
