Calculate the area of triangle ABC with altitude CD, given A (−3, −2), B (2, 3), C (-2, 5), and D (−1, 2). 14.1 square units 18 square units 19.5 square units 21 square units

please help!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the altitude is CD then the base is AB so area=(CDxAB)/2 just calculate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i used the distance formula for AB(7.07) and CD(3.16). And then I used your equation and got 11.17 but that answer isnt on there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the same answer...:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you anyway

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i know where the problem is:D is not on (AB)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to find the equation of a line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. im sorry:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok then there's something wrong with the given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe so. this wouldnt be the first time the correct answer choice wasnt there. thank you for your time:)
