OpenStudy (alekos):

do you know pythagoras?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Impossible. The hypotenuse is the longest side, and is across from the right angle. Right now, you have the adjacent side as the longest.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

7.8?

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

@Smosh

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

6 x 6 = 36, 5x5 = 25, 25 + 36 = 61 the square root of 61 = 7.8

OpenStudy (alekos):

the triangle is not possible as smosh has mentioned

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If possible at all, 6 would need to be the hypotenuse. Meaning that x would be 3.31

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6*6=36 5*5=25 36-25=11 sqrt(11)=3.31

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

oh wait the Pythagorean theorem is only for right triangles right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

what is the Pythagorean theorem? is this trig??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Without princess having drawn a box in the corner, we have no way of knowing. But, from the looks, it looked like it was supposed to be a right triangle. But, the hypotenuse HAS to be the longest side meaning that the triangle that was given wasn't possible a right triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It could be trig, but we would have needed at least one defined angle measure.

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

i know what the theorem is i mean lol.

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

i c

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

smosh is right

OpenStudy (mindblast3r):

what's the purpose of the little box in the triangle? is it to know where to measure??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The little box in the corner of a triangle shows that it is for sure a 90 degree angle.

OpenStudy (alekos):

pretty princess is having some fun with us i think
