OpenStudy (dulljackel09):

Which type of radioactive decay does not produce any particles? a. beta decay c. gamma decay b. alpha decay d. electron decay

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Is it electron decay ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@BEATZDJ can u help ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is gamma decay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is no such thing as electron decay.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

It is a hypothesis

OpenStudy (abhisar):

and it emits particles like neutrino

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gamma Decay is an unstable atomic nucleus dissipates energy by gamma emission, producing gamma rays.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Anyways, answer will be gamma decay..as it emits gamma rays..which is a form of energy and not particle....."IF U DON CONSIDER DUAL NATURE OF LIGHT"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait...are you talking about electron decay? It is not one of the main decays so I don't think electron decay is.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yes it is not among the three fundamental decays u study in some classes....but it is a hypothetical decay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I see @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

u cn chck like say ths link. http://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/0312325

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True

OpenStudy (dulljackel09):

XD you both are wrong its alpha decay

OpenStudy (abhisar):

How ? Alpha decay produces a alpha particle and an with a mass number less than 4

OpenStudy (abhisar):

For example alpha decay of uranium

OpenStudy (abhisar):

*and an atom

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@Whitemonsterbunny17 can u help ?
