What are the domain and range of the relation (–4, 2), (0, 1), (0, 5), (8, 10)? A.Domain: {–4, 0, 8}; Range: {2, 1, 5, 10} B.Domain: {–4, 2, 0, 1, 5, 8, 10}; Range: {–4, 2, 0, 1, 5, 8, 10} C.Domain: {–4, 0, 5, 10}; Range: {2, 1, 8} D.Domain: {2, 1, 5, 10}; Range: {–4, 0, 8}

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Each point in the relation consists of an x-coordinate followed by a y-coordinate. The domain is the set that contains the x-coordinates. The range is the set that contains the y-coordinates. If the same x-coordinate appears in more than one point, it only shows up in the domain once. The same is true for the y-coordinates and the range.
