could anyone give me a real life example of solving a radical equation with any root
Maybe you have a cubic tupperware container and you're going to put some food in it to go to a party later and need to go buy a cooler to fit it in. You can't find your ruler, but luckily the container says how much volume it contains on it. You know that coolers are sold by their dimensions listed in length by width by height so that means you just need to know the length of your tupperware container's sides to make sure it'll fit. You'd feel really too awkward to bring the tupperware to the store with you to buy the cooler and you don't really want to just buy the largest cooler they have because money's tight and you probably shouldn't be partying anyways but it's Sunday and you have nothing better to do and want to get rid of all this extra chili your grandparents brought over since you're allergic to legumes. So you take the cube root of the volume of your tupperware container to find the side length. Problem solved.
thank you, both of you
you're welcome
would you know a real life example of solving equation with square root expressions on both sides of the equation
I do, but I don't know if it will be good enough for you.
It's real world, but it's related to other mathematical concepts.
sure, anything you got would help
Are you familiar with concepts like focus and directrix?
