A.) Find x value. The diagram is not drawn to scale. B.) Is the triangle equilateral, isosceles, scalene? Explain

OpenStudy (arabpride):

Is there a picture? *^.^*

There's three arcs: 8x - 10 6x 10x + 10 They add up to 360, the degree of the full circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 360 = 8x - 10 + 6x + 10x + 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can use this to first solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[360 = 8x - 10 + 6x + 10x + 10\] \[360 = 24x\] \[x = 360/24\] \[x = 180/12\] \[x = 90/6\] \[x = 30/2\] \[x = 15\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To see what type of triangle this is, we ca now use x to find the length of the arcs. The angles are inscribed angles, so the value of the angles will be half the value of the arcs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The angles are 1/2 the value of the arcs, so inputting x for the arcs we find that: angle R = 55 angle Q 45 angle P = 80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A scalene triangle is a triangle where no angles are sides are equivalent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 15 It is a scalene triangle because none of the sides or angles of the triangle are equivalent.
