Which kingdoms include only prokaryotes, only heterotrophs? What are the domains of life? Which characteristics does each domain have?

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Hi! @chumphrey ! Ok here the answer to your first qn: Kingdom Eubacteria and Kingdom Archaebacteria are prokaryotes..:) And kingdom fungi and Animalia are Heterotrophs..:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shreehari499 thank you so so much! :)

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Ok now the second qn: The three domains of life are Eukaryota, Bacteria and Archae..:)

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

First one: Eukaryota: They include all animals and plants..and also include fungi. Some external characteristics are presence of a cytoskeleton, flagella (some of them), Endoplasmic Retculum Golgi Apparatus etc..:)

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Second one: Bacteria: They are the prime causative agents of many human and animal diseases. Some characteristics are : 1) Bacteria lack the membrane-bound nuclei of eukaryotes 2) The DNA is not bound to proteins as it is in eukaryotes 3) They do not contain membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria or chloroplasts, as eukaryotes do..:)

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Now the third one: Archae: Earlier it was not considered as a domain of life until it was considered in 1970s Some of the characteristics are: 1) they are foun in three shapes like coccus bacillus and Spiral 2) Archaea may have one or more flagella attached to them, or may lack flagella altogether 3) As with other living things, archaeal cells have an outer cell membrane that serves as a barrier between the cell and its environment...:)
