Need help with geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, I've got to take an EOC later today, but I haven't dealt with geometry in forever. Here's the problem

Ok. Let's look at the transversal line "IKMH"|dw:1400836464003:dw|A line is always going to be 180 degrees. If you look at your picture, <IKJ is also 58 degrees. This means that 58 degrees of the 180 degree line are being taken up. So, 180-58=122

Oh, that's right. I can't remember what they're called, transversals I think, but they're made with parallel lines correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, a line that goes through two parallel lines is called a transversal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, got it. Thanks :D

Your welcome. :)
