the pythagorean theorem is \[a^{2} + b^{2} = c^{2}\] where a and b are the legs, and c is the hypotenuse you have a=0.3, b=?, c=0.5 plug in those values and solve for b

not quite... \[(0.3)^{2} + b^{2} = (0.5)^{2}\] \[0.09 + b^{2} = 0.25\] \[b^{2} = 0.25 - 0.09\] so what does b =?
