OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Tom Lehrer's "New Math" is also a lot of fun, base 10 and base 8 subtraction! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIKGV2cTgqA And there is a parody "I will derive" that is neat for introduction of calc / physics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9dpTTpjymE Professor Moriarty talked quite a bit on the "Sounds of Pi" on Numberphile. Not quite a "song" but just music. He also posted a full song but I don't remember where it was located. Maybe in the description there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPn4tgmU8ek Yea I was listening to them again before I posted 'em. Those are the only ones I've come across out of my own boredom. lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol...i did New Math for an elementary school talent show when i was like 9 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^_^ more of music :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha cool lol , i liked the first one :O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a question came into my mind why slope define by variable m ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

for the same reason the un.kno.wn is x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/52477.html

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

u can list many questions around that thought, here is my share : 1) why \(\lambda \) is used for lagrange multipliers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe lambda for lagrange?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats right! its based on the french math whiz lagrange

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe we should call him λ-grange

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nice one !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@AccessDenied the last one , im like wow !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright...about time to head home...i'll post the list once i get it pulled :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its based on the french math whiz lagrange

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oki doki @mtbender74 :) its like 1:20 AM here have to slp hehe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow...that's like, eastern europe area...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i loved the tau song :3

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

This 'doodle song' also by Vi Hart is very out-there, the description might give you a bit more understanding what it is about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Av_Us6xHkUc This one is more about science but I'll leave it out there for fun. Bohemian Gravity by A Capella Science. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rjbtsX7twc I'm running short on ideas now. So I look forward to the addition by @mtbender74 . :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me too waiting

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got home and my wife told me we had to go out for dinner because she moved furniture all day and didn't have time to make anything :) By the time we go back, it was too late to post, but I got the list... Because mine are specific for a Pi (pie) day celebration, none of them are really "math songs" but anything involving pi(e) or circles was accepted... You Spin Me Round - Dead or Alive Circle of Life - The Lion King Peaches - Presidents of the United States American Pie - Don McLean Cherry Pie - Warrant Wheel in the Sky - Journey I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch) - The Four Tops Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash Circle in the Sand - Belinda Carlisle Will the Circle be Unbroken - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Round and Round - Ratt and any song by A Perfect Circle :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha nice list xD
