what is an arithmetic series?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Arithmetic sequence is a set of numbers that follows a certain pattern. This pattern is either adding or subtracting a number from a previous term to get the next term.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

For example \[1,~4,~7,~10,~13....\]And here you add 3 to get each next term. This 3 is called the "difference"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. the sum of the term of a arithmetic sequence b. a list of terms in order

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or c. addition performed on items one after another in some order

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

lets' name somethings. Lets call the first term, \(\large\color{black}{ \bf a_1 }\) Lets call the last term, \(\large\color{black}{ \bf a_n }\) hold on... do you have a specific set of numbers ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I only have those three options. I understand the concept but its a trick question
