if the question is security, just make sure to port forward right devices, use a switch , filter macs, block ports , etc

Connected directly to the router my be Hubs, switches, wireless routers. connected to those would be Lab-tops, desktops, printers etc. This looks like something from A+. i don't see why have a T1 from the lan to isp?
