OpenStudy (zuha):

Which is a rule that describes the translation of a point from (-5, 4) to (-1, 2)? (x, y) --> (x - 4, y - 2) (x, y) --> (x + 4, y - 2) (x, y) --> (x + 4, y + 2) (x, y) --> (x - 4, y + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. So this is a relatively easy question once you can actually see the pattern. If you were to take -5 and -1.... How much difference is between the two? same thing with the y's. How much is in between 4 and 2? so how do you get from -5 to -1? and how do you get from 4 to 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zuha do you understand what I mean?

OpenStudy (zuha):

oh sorry , I was away !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're okay (: But do you understand what I mean by how you get from which number to which number?

OpenStudy (zuha):

-5 to -1 = 4, 4 to 2= 2, right?

OpenStudy (blank ):

B. (x, y) --> (x + 4, y - 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes precisely. so like Blank went straight to the point in order to get from -5 to -1 its 4 (your x ) and from 4 to 2 its -2 (your y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your answer is your second choice or B (:
