Find the lateral area for the prism. Please help I need this quickly. https://media.glynlyon.com/g_geo_ccss_2013/8/groupi68.gif @OrangeMaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lateral Area Formual: (a+b+c)h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*Formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You mean the Pythagorean thoerom times height?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, but you will have to use Pythagorean Theorem to find the hypotenuse. Then just add the three sides of the triangle, and multiply it y the height.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

( + Radical ) It has to be in this form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you list the multiple choice options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are none

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, then I don't think I can be of much help. Sorry though. I do know that the answer not in ( + Radical ) form is 137.68 if that helps. Sorry again. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@IMStuck can you help me? Quickly please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@elementwielder HELP!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use pythagorean thm to solve for missing side then im pretty sure you can get it from there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would be radical 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the missing side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because A^2 + B^2 =C^2 4^2+B^2=6^2 16+B^2=36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no because 6 is not the hypotenuse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the hypotenuse the missing number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be radical 52?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

simplify to get 2 root 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay and then I add the other two sides to it so it would be 12 root 13. then I multiply it by 8, the height right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lateral area is a square so multiply both sides together to get your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Both sides of what

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the lateral area so 8 and 2 root 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16 radical 13. But it has to be in this form: ( + radical )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i hate radicals so idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but technically 2 root 13 is a radical

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right, so would my equation so far look like this ( + 16 radical 13)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm..... honestly idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not terrible in math but im not great either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay, thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your welcome if you never need help again just tag me or message me and ill get back asap

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thanks :) I probably will in a few hours

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
