OpenStudy (anonymous):
and what are you supposed to find? the equation for p(x)?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and round to the nearest thousandth
OpenStudy (anonymous):
p(x) = 984.8143*0.4100^x
not quite sure if that's the form you wanted it in.

no thank you it have to be from 0 to 1 and u around to the nearest thousandth
OpenStudy (anonymous):
that makes no sense whatsoever. Maybe you should try posting the entire question all restrictions included.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay than u i will

need yr help 5 5 3 3 2 2 2 4 find the range, sample variance and standard deviation
OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):
Do you know how to find the range if a set of numbers?

yes
OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):
Then what's the range?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1
OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):
Not quite.. You had the right idea, though. Rearrange all of the numbers so that they're in order from greatest to least.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):
the range is simply the smallest number in a series subtracted from the largest number in a series
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thank u
OpenStudy (anonymous):
about the sample variance
OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):
Yeah, I was getting to that part haha. Subtract the last number from the first number in your list and you should get the range. The variance is the average of the squared differences from the Mean. Standard deviation is the square root of the Variance.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay thank u so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):
what is an advantage to using the range has a measure of variation ?
OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):
Mind rephrasing that?

The range is the simplest measure of variation to find.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
my choice
A) it uses all entries from the data set
B) IT USES ONLY TWO ENTRIES FROM THE DATA SET
C) it hard to compute
OpenStudy (anonymous):
u there
OpenStudy (dangerousjesse):
Yeah, it's A.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay thx what is the disadvantage
