differentiate between primary growth and secondary growth

OpenStudy (juicstice):

primary growth occurs at the apical meristems, where the structure is elongated secondary growth occurs at the vascular cambium and cortex cambium, where the structure is increased in width

do you have more info

OpenStudy (juicstice):

I could find more

OpenStudy (juicstice):

Primary growth extends the length of a plant both aboveground and belowground. the shoot system is the part that grows aboveground The entire shoot system starts with a small region of the plant called the shoot apical meristem which is in control of cell growth for primary growth Secondary growth is growth in width and it arises from the lateral meristems in stems and roots. lateral meristems are regions of high cell division activity, the cells they make grow outward rather than upward or downward.
