Hello. I need to draw two examples of intermolecular reactions between ammonium nitrate and another molecule, and then I need to explain the drawing. I have no idea what this means or how to do it. Please give two specific examples and tell me how I could explain and draw them. It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

intermolecular just means that it's a reaction of a molecule with NOT itself, but with another. So just show ammonium nitrate reacting with whatever else.

Yea how would I do that haha. Does it have to react with a certain molecule, and how would I show that? If you could give me one example I can do the others! Thank you so much.

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

This should help, it's not about how to write them, you need to remember the bonds they make etc. and lots of practice http://www.chemguide.co.uk/atoms/bonding/vdw.html

OpenStudy (aaronq):

wait, can you double check if your assignment says intermolecular "attractions" or "reactions"? they're two very different things. The link @alphadxg posted is good, but might not be related to the topic.
