Please Help Which equation is the result of solving y-p=m(x-q) for x?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

first expand the brackets on the right of the equation Post your answer here..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

m(x-q) can be 'expanded' (multiply all terms inside the bracket by the term outside)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mx-mq

Sorry everytime I try to type I have to refresh the page. But I did try what you said its written above.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

OK that is correct so the equation now reads y-p = mx - mq You want to solve for x So rearrange the equation so that all the terms with x in are on one side, and all those without x in are on the other side. Hint - the only term with x in is 'mx' so keep that on one side and rearrange the rest...
