Check my answer please! Medal! 1.Find the domain of y=4sqrtx-8 I got x>8 2. Find the domain of y=sqrt2x-4 I got x>-2
@neer2890
oops.. I don't know about functions ,domains and ranges. sorry but I am recommending @deshawn1 hope he'll help you
thank you!
you are welcome... @baybay88
When finding the domain of a function, the only thing you are looking for is when the equation does not exist, meaning something is wrong when you input a specific number, for square roots, you can't take the square root of a negative number, but you CAN take the square root of zero
So your answer for question 1 should have been\[x \ge 8\]and i'll let you answer the second one
Oh i see so the 2nd one would be x>=-2?
not -2, it should be 2, look at what happens when you plug in -2 to that\[y=\sqrt{2x-4}=\sqrt{-2(2)-4}=\sqrt{-4+-4}=\sqrt{-8}\]you can't take the square root of a negative number
Oh ok I understand. Thank you!
