The function f(x)=2x^3–27x^2+84x+6 has one local minimum and one local maximum. This function has a local minimum at x equals with value ? and a local maximum at x equals with value ? Im not sure what im doing wrong I got (2,-30) and (7,30)

OpenStudy (loser66):

2 and 7 for x are good, redo y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

apparently, im told that 2 and 7 are wrong

OpenStudy (loser66):

why ? to get the local min/max, we take derivative and let it =0 to find x-coordinate. I calculate and the result is x =2 and x =7 Can't be wrong. but your y is not good :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know! I have done it so many times, but the computer system im plugging it in is saying its wrong, idk y. Ill re-do the y, I find it from the second derive right?

OpenStudy (loser66):

nope, nope you plug x =2 into the original problem (2x^3 -27x^2.......) to get y of x =2 and y of x =7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok! I got 82 and -43

OpenStudy (loser66):

ok, good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but, is there anything I could possibly be doing wrong? I am getting it wrong under the system

OpenStudy (loser66):

I don't get what you mean, the system said "Wrong"?? can you use snipping tool to save the image of the system and post it here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried,it wont let take a pic, this is what I could get Entered Answer Preview Result 2 incorrect 82 incorrect 7 incorrect -43 incorrect

OpenStudy (loser66):

someone post the link of the net, try once.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm! it worked! it took a couple tries, the system sucks. Thank you!!!
