State whether the angles are complementary, supplementary, or neither. ∠ACF and ∠FCB A. neither B. complementary C. supplementary

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Know what complementary and supplementary mean?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

\(\angle A + \angle B =180^\circ\) means supplementary. \(\angle A + \angle B =90^\circ\) means complementary.

OpenStudy (dannyrod2000):

complementary if you see they both are less than 90

OpenStudy (dannyrod2000):

FCB is 90 and ACF is less than 90

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Umm... less than 90 is just acute.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

A little confirmation of the definitions I gave: http://www.mathsisfun.com/definitions/supplementary-angles.html http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/complementary-angles.html Just because two angles are acute does not mean they are complementary. 80 + 80 = 160. 80 is acute, but two of them are more than 90.
