y = 3x^2 + 12x -6 y =3(x^2+4x +4) -12 -6 y+18=3(x+2)^2

you messed up slightly when you factored out the 3, you weren't supposed to take a 3 out of the -6, you were only supposed to take a factor of 3 away from the numbers with an x
