How to graph f(x) = x^3 + 4x^2 - x - 4
well do you know calculus...?
no, we usually do our math online and our teacher has us use geogabra with basically graphs equations for you.
Can you be more specific? Do you just need to know what the graph roughly looks like, or do you have to use (pre)calculus to find key properties of the function?
i need to know the steps to graph it
ok... so here is a site that will allow you to graph the curve https://www.desmos.com/calculator I'd use a table of values x from x = -5 to x = 2 something like that... get the corresponding y values and the plot them... hope it helps
Steps usually are: 1. Find out the domain of f. 2. Calculate zeroes of f by solving f(x)=0. 3. Calculate zeroes of f' by solving f'(x)=0. 4. Use a sign scheme of f' to see where the extrema of f are. 5. Find out if there are any asymptotes. 6. Use this data to draww a graph.
thank you
