A portion of the graph of f(x)=4-x^2 is shown. What is the area of the shaded triangle? Link below http://mdtp.ucsd.edu/test_new/index.php
I don't see a picture on that link. But think simple, don't psych yourself out. It's a picture of a graph yes, but it IS asking for an area of a triangle. Which is 1/2(b)(h)
oops I meant to type rectangle instead of triangle
Same thing, don't freak out. A rectangle's area is just length times width
And if you aren't sure of the lengths of those, the rectangle is on a graph (which has points) so you can use the distance formula to find the length of the 2 segments that are the length and width of the triangle
ohhh, I forgot about the distance formula! Thanks
& It's just a practice test
You're welcome. I took AP Calculus AB, and I ALWAYS psyched myself out. Especially with area under the graph (AKA find integral). And it took me awhile to realize I can break whatever the whole is under the graph into smaller simple geometric shapes, take the areas of them all and add them together.
I appreciate it
