zero product property to find the x-intercepts

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

example x^2+3x+2 = 0 implies (x+2)(x+1)=0 now with real numbers ab=0 implies that either a is zero or b is zero so (x+2)(x+1)=0 implies that either x+2=0 or x+1 = 0 so the roots are x=-2 or x=-1
