History is, by far, my WORST subject. I just CAN'T get into it for the life of me, it puts me to sleep and I can't retain any of it. I feel SO lost when I read about it or anyone talks about it. I was just curious if any of you knew any study tips that could help me out or any websites that simplify things for me. I'm doing Florida Virtual School for grade forgiveness and I'm so bummed out about not understanding this to the point where I'm not even wanting to participate.
Ah, although we both go to FLVS, it seems we differ in our view of History. It's probably because History is basically stories (1) of the past. But if you hate reading through the whole lesson, I suggest copy/pasting written parts (that are in slideshows and such, or since you have problems remembering, get as much as you can) of it into a Word Document. If you take a quiz, you just need to use Control + F. If it's an essay, or non-quiz assessment, maybe look for the important information, categorize that (2), and then use that information for whatever you need. And to make History more interesting, you could imagine what the people in the events were thinking, or you could watch some Hetalia/read some Scandinavia And The World (I think that's how it's spelled). (1)--Stories that may or may not be true, often having some details left out depending on where you're getting it from... (2)--By putting it into another word document with boxes, or something similar.
If you are saying to copy and paste answers found off the internet that are not your own work than that is plagerism and is illegal and wrong I would not recomend that @FrostFelon just cut out any small information that is unnessecary, get to the point of the article, and include only the facts you need. Here's a piece of advice for you from a weird and twisted piece of history, Adolf Hitler said in his auto biography that history should not be seen as a compleation of dates, but rather what the events aqre and what caused them to happen and what happened after the events studied and how they changed the world. (this is not quoted word from word) so try viewing history as a persons life not a whole group it makes easier that way sometimes.
@musicmakeslife I don't think you quite understand what I said. Florida Virtual School has open-book tests (1), which means that you can go back to a lesson if you're stuck in an assignment and try to review that again, so putting it in a Word Document isn't plagiarism. It should also be noted that i didn't tell @PrincessDess17 to copy and paste others' works and claim it as their own, which WOULD be plagiarism. Basically, I told them to take the online equivalent of notes, so as to understand what they should focus on and write about.
(1)--The only exceptions are Pretests, Module Tests, possibly Discussion Based Assessments, and Semester Exams.
Ok I apoligize I wasn't trying to accuse you I take a college class with essays that you can use too I just didn't understand I just know people who have got caught doing plagerism I was just advicing it was bad that's all. :)
Alright, just please read comments carefully next time.
