rewrite in terms of sin theta and simplify:: tan theta/cot theta

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well tan = sin/cos and cot = cos/sin so the problem becomes \[\frac{\frac{\sin}{\cos}}{\frac{\cos}{\sin}}\] dividing by a fraction requires you to flip the denominator fraction and multiply \[\frac{\sin(x)}{\cos(x)} \times \frac{\sin(x)}{\cos(x)}\] so you need to simplify the equation above then you'll also need to use the identity \[\sin^2(x) + \cos^2(x) = 1\] hope it helps

thank you!!!
