What are the domain and range of the relation {(–5, 5), (–3, 2), (0, 3), (3, 2)}? A. Domain: {0, 2, 3, 5}; Range: {–5, –3} B. Domain: {2, 3, 5}; Range: {–5, –3, 0, 3} C. Domain: {–5, –3, 0, 3}; Range {–5, –3, 0, 2, 3, 5} D. Domain: {–5, –3, 0, 3}; Range {2, 3, 5}

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

The domain is all the x values and the range is all the y values...you do not have to use duplications, if there are any. Understand ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

In each set of points, the values are (x,y)...so what is all the x values ? Those are your domain. And all the y values are the range.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Domain is the x values. So find all the x values in all your coordinate points up there. The are -5, -3, 0, 3. All the range values are your y coordinates. They are 5, 2, 3, 2. But since you have two 2's, and you only need one, your range is 5, 3, 2. Now put all of your domain values in order from least to greatest, and do the same with your range values and you have a domain of {-5, -3, 0, 3} and a range of {2, 3, 5}. See now? So your answer is D from above. I hope that helps!
