@amistre64 i missed this question on my study guide so can u tell me how to complete it?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its just the basic definition of probability. how do we define probability?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 i looked it up and it says the extent to which something is probable; the likelihood of something happening or being the case. ??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

using numbers: probability is defined as the number of times we want something to happen, divded by the number of times things can happen: we want to pick a boy, how many boys are there? there are how many people entotal are there to choose from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

total of 21 students and 12boys

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then the probability of randomly picking a boy should be: 12 out of 21 = 12/21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thats all to it?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats all to it for something this fundamental yes :) it gets harder as you go along since real life isnt as simple as this.
