Which is a common problem with thesis statements? They are too vague. They are too specific. They contain no textual evidence. They are not included in the first sentence of the essay.

It can be both A and B. You certainly don't need textual evidence in the thesis statement since you provide evidence/details in your body paragraphs. The thesis statement doesn't need to be included in the first sentence in the essay. You should open your essay with a little background information, a small fact or story, a quote etc. before you write your thesis statement. So you can rule out C and D. I'd narrow it down and say the answer is either A or B.

That's what I thought too. It can either be too narrow or too broad. What I think you should do is go back to the content you are reading and according to what is in the lesson, choose the answer that fits the most.
