OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do the filaments (thin and thick) in muscle tissue behave during contraction and relaxation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now I think what they mean is like how when one muscle contracts it shortens and when it relaxes it gets longer...

OpenStudy (abhisar):

True

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is that the right answer?....I wasn't sure if there was more to it?...

OpenStudy (abhisar):

yes its right

OpenStudy (abhisar):

During muscle contraction filaments shorten and during relaxation lengthens

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok! thx! @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

wait.... @Somy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I posted another question :) ....sorry If im like hounding u :/ @Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

I THINK THIN FILAMENTS GETS SHORTENED AND THICK FILAMENTS GET STRETCHED DURING CONTRACTION

OpenStudy (abhisar):

are u clear with this one ?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

@somy do u agree with my last line ?

OpenStudy (somy):

i don't know this topic but i just went through it i think about shortening of this filament you are right and thick filaments pull the thin filaments past them so i guess the thick ones do stretch http://health.howstuffworks.com/human-body/systems/musculoskeletal/muscle2.htm @Abhisar
