geerky42 (geerky42):

\(A = s^2\), where A is area and s is side.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Do you know what s is in this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

geerky42 (geerky42):

what's the length of side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8, correct? and with that logic if I follow that consistently with some more sound logic the answer would be C. Right?

geerky42 (geerky42):

huh? well, so length of the side is 8, right. We have formula for area of square, which is \(A = s^2\) and we know that s = 8 So we have \(A = 8^2\) What is \(8^2\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16

geerky42 (geerky42):

Do you know what " \(^2\) " is? Squared? When you square number, you multiply number by itself. for example: \(2^2 = 2\times2 = 4, 3^2 = 3\times3 = 9\) is that clear?

geerky42 (geerky42):

So \(8^2 = 8 \times 8 = \ldots?\)

B. :)
