The range of the following relation: R {(3, -5), (1, 2), (-1, -4), (-1, 2)} is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking the range is the 1st number of each coordinate. If I'm right?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf R \{(3, {\color{brown}{ -5}}), (1, {\color{brown}{ 2}}), (-1, {\color{brown}{ -4}}), (-1, {\color{brown}{ 2}})\} \qquad {\color{brown}{ range}}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, so it's the second one?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

yeap, the 1st one is the "domain"

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Domain: set of possible inputs (x coordinates) Range: set of possible outputs (y coordinates)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, one more?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

may want to post anew, if we dunno someone else may, and we can revise each other :)
