can you help me graph them on demos calculator with the same format
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
which graph ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
all of the above in the same format

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
we already did first graph :/
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1 one was 3x-2
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
Correct ! graph it in desmos.
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
type in below :
`y = 3x-2`
OpenStudy (anonymous):
slope = rise / run = 3/1
from where did we get 2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
its NOT 2,
its \(\color{red}{-}2\) okay ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep but from where did we got -2
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
Look at the blue line,
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
where does the `blue line` intersect the `vertical thick black line` (y axis) ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so that means -2 is C

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
You got it !!
-2 is called the `y intercept`
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
Absolutely !! and btw, a very good job :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but i want to reduce the boxes in the graph do you know how can we do it

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
do u have teamviewer ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
In desmos :
Look at `top - right` corner, you will find controls for "Zoom in" and "Zoom out"
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
click `-` to zoom out
click `+` to zoom in
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
you need to click `-` as u want to reduce the size of boxes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
can we do the second graph

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
Okay, can u tell me the `slope` of blue line in second graph ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
Looks like, to rise 1 grid, it is running 8 grids to right, eh ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
So, slope = m = rise/run = 1/8
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
what about the y intercept, where does it cut the y axis ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it between 2 and 1

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
Yes ! at `1.5`
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
so the equation of line is :
\(\large y = \dfrac{1}{8}x + 1.5\)
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
Excellent !!

I'll let you work the 3rd graph on ur own :)
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
leme knw if u feel stuck, just find below :
1) slope
2) y intercept
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
and plugin
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
damn you're fast lol
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
you're very close, but no. wait

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
where is the `blue line ` cutting y axis at ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
y=4x+1.5
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
step by step
OpenStudy (anonymous):
its 1.5
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
no look at it again, and btw you're looking at 3rd graph right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
yea
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
the graph where the blue line is falling down... that one right ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
look at it again, where does the blue line cross the y axis ?
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

i think i have drawn the figure wrong
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
You haven't answered my question yet :/
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
my question is this :
where does the blue line cross the y axis ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i compared the pic from the practice sheet its drawn all wrong

i took the pic i hope its clear
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
ugh dont hope, have a look lol its not clear at all
OpenStudy (anonymous):
according to the pic y intercept is between 1and 2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ofcorurse its photo copied
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
post a better pic if possible

OpenStudy (anonymous):
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
are u taking the pics wid ur webcam ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no mobile cam i dont have the software for web cam
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
ok its hard to help with those blurred images,
il let u work these on ur own :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
now i think its more clear
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
yes, to me the line seem to cut the y axis at `3`
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
and it is falling down by 4 grids, after running right for 1 grid
so slope = m = rise/run = -4/1 = -4
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
So the equation would be :
```
y = -4x + 3
```

OpenStudy (anonymous):
can you point out -4 and 1
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
The line is starting at 3,
after going right for 1 grid, the line is falling down by 4 grids
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
so, fall = 4
run = 1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
in the graph

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
-1-3 = -4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so -4 are number of grids
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
4 is the number of grids the line is falling
ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
its `-4` cuz the line is falling, instead of rising..

how are we getting -3 isnt it +3
